FEMME FORTH THOUGHT: How did we develop these ideas and stigmas about sex work? . First, WATCH my "HISTORY of Sex Work!" on YOUTUBE NOW to see the rules of how it all began, PLUS how sex work branched out from prostitution! LINK IN BIO! . A sex worker once told me that they thought is was hilarious that people thought they were 'selling their body'... "I still definitely take my body back home with me at the end of my workday, the only thing left behind is perhaps some sweat, but I give that away for free." . People who are sex workers use their body to SELL SERVICES, just as much as any other labor trade! . People have asked me how I can see it like that, when I also preach about being in tune to your sexuality- how your sexual partner(s) can give you different experiences... In the end of the day, your body is your OWN. It is up to you what times you think it is appropriate to open up yourself fully and vulnerable, and when to know your own emotional/physical limits with each interpersonal connection you face! . This is a thought that sex workers are very capable of accessing- helping retain a sense of self while sharing a service we see as quite intimate in society. The harm is when we say they are 'selling their bodies', as that strips them of the personhood that they all have, demeaning them into simply "bodies for sexual pleasure" Rather than "people offering sexual pleasure". .
